It is the policy of Duggins Welding that every employee is entitled to work under the safest possible conditions for the construction industry.

To this end, every reasonable effort is made in the interest of accident prevention, fire protection, and health preservation. All local, state, and federal safety codes will be adhered to.

Duggins Welding will endeavor to maintain a safe and healthful workplace. It will provide safe working equipment and necessary personal protective equipment will be made available. In the event of injury, the best first aid and medical service available will be provided.

Because of the number of jobs in progress at one time, the varied nature of the work, and the widespread locations of the jobs, we must formalize our safety program. We utilize written reports and records, to achieve the maximum use and effectiveness of accident prevention information.

The responsibility for safety on each job falls upon the Superintendent of that job. Their duties include the reviewing of all accident investigation and safety inspection reports for the job. They must also maintain a log or list of accidents to help in identifying accident trends. The Superintendent will perform a daily inspection of the job site at the beginning of each day and as often as needed thereafter. A written checklist will be used at least monthly on all job sites and a copy will be sent to the office to be reviewed and maintained for record.

The Superintendent will perform weekly toolbox talks regarding new safety topics. The Superintendent is also responsible for insuring that each employee follows the work and safety rules.

Duggins Welding has an excellent safety record and believes that it is wrong to think that accidents will happen and are unavoidable. If we all do our part by thinking and acting safely at all times, a great safety record can be achieved.
